new Free Music Project
Posted by Classicalalain in on September 20, 2004 at 8:09 AM

French Cyberdetective Alain STEVENS is working on a new project, based on GNU-Linux project, but ajusted to Piano Music.

Objective : record piano music, and propose it in free acces or download.

A lot of people does not know classical music because the purchase of discs represents an important budget.

If classical music is in free acces, if we can download or distribute it free, thinks can change. There are so many nice works ....

Last day, I heard a joung boy who thought that Beethoven was only a dog ...

Heh, its not that easy. I have many recordings of classical music, all copyrighted. Althrough the music itsself is long past copyright, an individual recording of it is not - this is a small loophole in copyright law. You could make MIDI files, those would be uncopyrightable, containing only the unedited, unperformed transscript of sheet music.
