late '97, after living in the middle east for a while, i returned to texas on the very day my former roommate was leaving for europe. he asked me....begged me....to take over his house while he was gone. i did. my first day, strolling on my new front lawn, i heard music from across the street. being a musician myself, i walked over and was about to knock on an old rickety screen door when i peered into the house and was surprised to see a beautiful woman standing in the middle of a wooden floor in front of an upside down plastic laundry basket with a broom handle sticking up through it and a microphone taped hastily to the top. she was strumming a guitar and singing. she was poor, beautiful(as i already mentioned) and hoplessly dedicated to her music. she was sweet and shy and her voice was gorgeous.
two quick memories:
one day i came home from work and found her locked inside the closet. i left her alone and after hours she emerged and shyly asked if her new song was any good. she pressed a button and "Fallen" played for the first time.
last march, for my birthday, she secretly recorded in the studio a song dedicated to me. she had me sit down, pressed a button and out came "Wish"

so....7 years later you guys named her best female vocalist on this site.
you sure made her day. mine too. and for that i say......thanks.

This has been an amazing day for me and the best Birthday Present i could ever ask for. Ever since i joined Dmusic, i never knew how much positive energy this site would bring to my art. I have been inspired and have been challenged by many important, wonderful and amazing artists as your seves. There is so much talent on this site and just being nominated was
something i will not take for granted.
Now that i have come in 2'nd place ( Tied with Jennae - Doo Little Street) ( Another Amazing and beautiful song ) with my latest song "The Nightmare Of Love", i am so touched i really don't know how to react , or what toi say but thankyou. I am sure that i will have many new songs to come, and just the fact that my music is touching people makes it all worth it. I am thankful to all of you with the bottom of my heart.

WOW!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!! Truly a big surprise to get nominated and tie for first. I think the fact that there was a tie for 1st 2nd and 3rd shows the depth and quality of the music in the other category, much like the rest of the classified categories.

Just wanted to say personally i find it an honor to be up there with halaka as they are on eof the bands we have grown to enjoy, respect, and be influenced by.

I see alot of names that deserved to win and im so happy for all the winners and all the nominees.
