You're kidding. It flopped? If the goal is to see a hot woman in black leather, then I just did before I clicked the link. Either way, not worth 8 bucks.

*waits for the sexist pigs who run this site to show some sort of equality for the women, perhaps by posting a picture of Brad Pitt*

Yeah, apparently a movie needs more than a sexy woman in black leather to be a success. Something like...........A PLOT!

Sexist? Men in tight leather pants don't sell. Sorry to burst your buble. Please don't post Brad Pitt in any kind of leather... please.

Seems like what ever does well there will be the multitude of copycats following trying to reap some more of your money by cloning the theme.

Doesn't mean that clone will be good. Looks like this one is a case in point. They have tried to like a well liked actor, sex, and imitation to get you in the theater. I have not seen the movie, the illustration pretty well screams sex.

So where is our caped crusader in the senate when you need him?

I remember someone (I think on CNBC) saying something to the effect that Halle Berry makes as much bad choices in the movies she makes as in the men she's been involved with. That, plus many papers calling the film a "cat-astrophe."

And to think of all the people who could have saved money by downloading the movie and discovering how bad it is, as opposed to Regal, which wont give a refund...

I'll tell you why it flopped. Because everyone knows Catwoman is a VILLIANESS! She may have had a thing for Batman, but she was always a villianess.

Not to mention the whole Catwoman thing was done quite well by Michelle Pfieffer in Batman Returns.

Just one more instance of Hollywood taking a comic book character and destroying it. At least Stan Lee didn't stand for this kind of BS when they made all the Marvel Comics into movies. Well, except back in the '80s when they made all those Captain America movies and Incredible Hulk TV movies. But not now. Meanwhile DC lets their characters be destroyed and replaced by politically correct versions. If they ever do get around to making that Superman movie they've been talking about for the past 10 years, you can be sure they'll destroy him as they have now destroyed one of comic's greatest villianesses.

Good point NiceGuy.

At different points in the history of theatre, different things have been popular. Drama, Comedy, Melodrama.. these days the same kinds of patterns have prevailed. Right now the "Remake" is popular, and personally I hate it. The Hulk, Spawn, X-Men, Spiderman, Pearl Harbor, Titanic... it doesn't stop. Original material is hard to come by right now.

Like everything, the bean counters are in control. That limits creativity. Hard to put a price on creativity, though they try.

I am afraid it will take CEOs with a bit of balls to get something besides this drivel we are seeing now.

Not much are truely originals as bean counters prefer "tried and proven" to new and unknown.

Sherm I think the only reason the remakes are popular isn't because the public wants them, it's because the studios have no vision or creativity.

The public can only want what they see

also sherm, my wife would disagree with you about Brad Pitt. she'd love to see him in tight leather. LOL

But can you truly say Spiderman 2 is a remake? Comicbooks like X-Men and Spiderman have the potential for as many sequals as there are villains. As long as they don't repeat the same story, I'm happy.

In fact I'll watch the next X-Men since the second movie gives hints about the appearance of Phoenix.

I know the public doesn't want to see the remakes. Culture is stale, and it's because of Hollywood.

And if your wife wants to see Brad Pitt in tight leather pants, then she can write to him and ask nicely (with your permission of course). I don't condone Brad Pitt in tight leather pants on this site. Tell her I am sorry. =)

Actually, NiceGuy, Catwoman's had her own very successful comic for over 10 years and is more of an anti-hero. The problem wasn't that they gave her her own movie sans Batman (since they've proven that the character can work on her own), the problem is with the fact that they changed everything about her. No Selena Kyle, no Gotham, supernatural powers... this is not Catwoman. She's a thief with heart, she got where she is physically with hard training, not a mystical cat, and her concience always wins out when innocent lives are at stake. She doesn't act like a cat, she's not part cat, it's just part of her motif. The filmmakers failed to recognize all this and that's why this failed, they simply created a whole new character and gave her a familiar name.

Why do you assume that leflaw's catalogue is a potential location of pictures of Brad Pitt in tight leather pants?

Thanks, darthmooby. I don't read comics that much, but I knew Catwoman was a villian. I'd forgotten all the other stuff to from Batman Returns.

Maybe you're right. Maybe the filmmakers forgot to do their homework. I've seen it happen too much these past few years. First they come out with a supposed "prequel" to the original Star Trek, only to throw out the established history and start over and try to win viewers with a slut with pointy ears. Then they remade Battlestar Galactica. Now that's pure blasphemy. I'm sure Lorne Greene's spinning in his grave about as fast as Gene Roddenberry's ashes are spinning up in orbit. That's why there's so many problems in the world. This is their revenge for destroying the shows they love. Not to mention that half-baked "Ponderosa" show they came out with a few years back.

Yeah, Hollywood loves remakes. I counted several "Fantastic Four" movies from the 80's once (can't quite remember the website), plus several "Captain America" movies (one which was made by some Italians and wasn't that good). And I'm sure we all remember the Incredible Hulk movies from the late '80s that had NBC trying to bring characters like Thor and Daredevil to life. Not to mention that whole deal where they changed Bruce Banner's name to David in the series.

Hollywood wants originality? They should come to me. Granted I can't write, but I have tons of ideas in my head. They'd just have to want to produce them.

Bad script + no Batman = flop.

Not that Halle Berry doesn't look hot in that leather suit, but that gets old after about 60 seconds...

NiceGuy,

I assume you've seen Roger Corman's Fantastic Four movie (available via bootleg at your local comic convention) & that godawful Captain America movie with the son of JD Salinger playing Cap.

Terrible films all the way around. A good script + money for SFX will make a comic movie. You can't go cheap & expect it to do well.

nice try leflaw..but that ain't any kind of leather I'm familiar with....ooohhh sweat leather!

..and in all honesty, that really isn't the most flattering picture of Halle Berry....boobs just kind of dangling there...
