I've been saying this for a while now. We are headed downward, and one or a few people alone can't stop it.

It's technically a race to the bottom now.
I heard on the news about a 14 year old being raped by a translator at Abu G.
There were videos of men, painted in feces, being beaten.
My God, are we going to erect a Colliseum and have gladiatorial games with tridents and spears next?

The Romans almost singlehandedly ruined the world.
I always root for the barbarians like the German Goths and Visigoths.

compare reality tv with gladiatorial games...
often times they would erect sets and false situations in which christians were eaten by lions.

Hehe you think our reality shows are like the galdiator games? Have you ever seen the Japanesse game show/reality shows? They are a ways ahead of us on that looks like we got some catching up to do.

actually you're right...our courts have taken the Roman law court system instead of the English common law now.

dont give me credit for accidentally stumbling on something code..
i was referring to the fact that our media hyped trials are as close to gladiatorial fights and/or show trials as can be expected in the apathetic states of america.

I thought we already had erected coliseums for gladiatorial games...except that we've replaced the tridents and spears with balls and sticks .

I hate to sound religious but man does the worlds current events look alot like at least "some" of the predictions in Revelations and Daniel.
America is a modern day Rome..but not the only ones. There are other countries especially in Europe that are doing the same.
I also tend to wonder sometimes if the internet isn't the modern day tower of Babylon..where everyone altogether..and now language doesn't even separate us. If revelations ever does turn out to be true...babylon is scheduled to fall.
I really believe there is going to be some weird events happening in this world in the next few years. Even if some on this board would scoff at these claims..I believe as time progresses some people will even start having a change of heart.
Maybe I'm right..maybe I'm wrong...just my opinion. I guess we will all just keep coming to these news boards and see what happens...and keep posting as things unfold.

America won't be around forever. What empire has? None. So who should be surprised? Only the cockiest and most undeducated of citizens. It is unfortunate that it is beginning to happen during our lifetimes. Money is what motivates those responsible for this, and terrorism is the excuse of the century.

It is a good analogy. The playing field today is a bit different. It wouldn't make any sense for the country to be slaughtered but the analogy should really get the point accross that america is in a weak state and we need to do something to change that if we want to keep it around.

Actually i do Believe America will be around untill the end of the world. I feel there will be revolutions during its time as the people here love freedom. As each new gov't reaches too far into our freedom America will stand up again.
Thats why i believe within my life time there will be a revolution. If im right hey who knows I might end up as a leader in it, I've always had amibitions higher than anything i could ever have with the way the us is now

Oh yeah and
"My God, are we going to erect a Colliseum and have gladiatorial games with tridents and spears next?"
I really hope we do, it would be something i'd actually love to watch on TV or even go to if it was close enough. It would be great.

zxilton - It was a good post. I think if you go back and read it in a different mood, then you see it differently than you did before, but it was good. There is no need to "sound religious" if you don't want to, since the bible is not nearly the only thing that hints toward major world changing events. Buy a book, search google, or watch TLC and learn about the Mayans. Fascinating stuff. Indeed the world will be changing in the next few years. Go see The Day After Tommorrow - holywood's exaggerated version of rapid climate change isn't as exaggerated as some people probably think. Just one of many ways. My point is that you are right. Not a bad post.
