LOS GATOS, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Audible Magic, Inc., a leading
provider of content management services and anti-piracy solutions, today
announced CopySense Network Appliance 1.4, the latest version of its network
appliance for P2P monitoring that identifies video, software titles, and
sexual content in addition to songs. CopySense 1.4 employs a sophisticated
metadata filter to identify these additional forms of content; future versions
will use a registered content database for more precise identification of
individual files, a technique currently used for songs.
"The strategy we have developed, working with content owners to register
and identify songs, is easily extended to other forms of content," said Vance
Ikezoye, founder and CEO of Audible Magic. "Movies and porn are areas of
increasing concern on P2P networks, especially as more and more consumers
adopt high-speed connections."
CopySense Network Appliance 1.4 also offers additional reporting options.
This includes a version that restricts information reported about individual
IP addresses. Standard reports can also be exported into html, xml, or csv
formats.
"These additional reports are based on feedback from our higher education
customers," Ikezoye continued. "Removing the capability to report on
individual P2P activity addresses the concerns about user privacy that have
been raised on college campuses."

Me think, all media will have to carry some sort of signature. Remove the signature and audio magic is dead.
