Fishkill has released their latest effort, an EP titled "PineappleOrangeBananna" through their home label Fishwhacked. This record is a little different from the others in the fact that is being distributed totally free of charge.
"I'm looking to increase the fan base," Guitarist, singer, songwriter, and just about everything else, says, "A Change Of Atmosphere" [their previous release] did really well, and it took the band to a new level. This time, I want the emphais to be on the fans. There's lots of music for sale--this will drive listeners in my direction"
There are many different stories which surround the release of this disc, one of which is the third track on the CD "Crash and Churn." This instrumental got its name as a result of a contest held recently asking the fans to suggest names and later vote for the most popular one.
Another story revolves around the decision to record additional material after the success of "A Change Of Atmosphere."
"I wasn't interested in making another record," Nelson explains, "Originally, it was going to be a sampler given to a few friends. I had always wanted to record Gary Nielsen's [of Axis 1 fame] 'My Solar System's Sun' and I had his permission to do it, all I needed was time. Meanwhile, I wrote 'Believe,' and turned out so well I just had to get that out. One thing led to another and...here we are!"
The disc features four brand-new recordings, a live track, and a previously unreleased recording. It also has many of the previously released singles as mp3 files embedded in the disc from their last three CDs. For those who've never heard the band, this disc is the ultimate Fishkill sampler.
