iRiver's New "Prism Eye"
Posted by AdminMrXero in on April 28, 2004 at 1:41 PM

iFP-1000 Prism Eye has created to fulfill the multi-functional electronics of customers' dreams. iriver has exceed the boundaries of digital music electronics and has introduced a high quality MP3 player with excellent digital camera.

The built-in camera allows you to take high quality pictures with 0.3 million pixels. The CMOS sensor allows taking pictures at dark. The pictures can be easily viewed and saved through the 1.2 inch, 2.6 million color graphic LCD.

The digital camera has many features to maximize its efficiency. Features includes digital 3X zoom, brightness setting, location mode options include indoor, outdoor and automatic.

The maximum resolution is 640*480. It is also possible to add effects such as Black/White, Sepia, Inverse, Over Exposure to the pictures.

Yeah it's low res but that gives them something to build on... I bet within a year they'll have 2-3 Megapixel versions out on the market. Nice fun little color screen too. I wonder if this will lead to an 'H Series' color screen multimedia player?

what age is that targeted at? Those cutesy little graphics makes it look like its meant for the 9-13 year old girl age bracket...otherwise, it looks like an interesting product...
but they need to have someone read over the copy on their site...
It's written as if the writer does not have English as their primary language...
read a sample below:
"Now, enjoy your digital music louder and longer
iFP-1000 Prism Eye provides even more improved sound output of 18mW (16ohm). Despite of 50% increase of the sound output, the playing time has also increase to 35 hours.

This is the real Multi-codec Player
The Prism Eye codec capabilities do not just end to digital music formats such as MP3, WMA, ASF and OGG (up to 256Kbps) but extends to JPG digital image format. Moreover, digital camera, voice recorder, FM radio (tuning and recording), removable hard disk features will lighten up your body and carrying bag."
