IT is my slightly sad duty to report the death of VICTORIA BECKHAM’s singing career.
The patient’s demise comes after the total flop of Posh’s special DVD album. Don’t tell me, you didn’t even know it was out?
Few people did, but it was in the shops on February 2. It has sold just 7,000 copies and is languishing at No95 in the DVD charts.
Posh had hoped the specially- packaged package, with six of her songs and TV documentary footage of her life with DAVID would fly off the shelves.
The DVD/album, the first mongrel hybrid of its kind, is called The Real Beckhams (geddit?).
It is ineligible for the album charts because of the extra film footage. But in album sales terms, shifting 7,000 copies over a month would barely have pushed it in to the top 40 — a complete disaster for an artist with Victoria’s profile.
A spokeswoman for Posh claimed: “It features a soundtrack by Victoria, gives fans additional surprises, 30 minutes of unseen footage and photos of the Beckhams. It is not a music product.”
Well that explains it.

Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Actually, I'm not sure this is the first DVD/album. While it was a soundtrack, the Blair Witch 2 soundtrack was available on the back of the Blair Witch 2 DVD. Of course you could still buy the CD version.
What much anymore is a music product?
