Ummm... k
Is this supposed to be a news article, or at least some explanation to the laymans about Judy McGrath's history? Because all this looks like is an extended haiku with a bunch of biased quotes slapped in.

Why even bother with this looser. Hell, a lot of us (even our beloved and esteemed Codewarrior) waste a lot of time and effort beating up on other loosers like Cary Sue Sherman...
They are just figurehead/lightningrods who really don't even have the power we give them "credit" for.
If you were a musically untalented/uninterested person who could somehow make them kinda bucks to "take the heat" from us boycotters and corporate nay-sayers... wouldn't YOU take the money to sit in the chair and let the dung we fling heap up high?
Hell, I would!
YES, these folks need demonized by us "fringe lunatics" cause the sheep need symbols
(and that INCLUDES the RIAA)
but don't forget the REAL enemy is corporate dominance of our lives... political and social.

Not putting you down Code, (and I know you are just using Cary Sue as a symbol for the sheep in the same way we here are all collectively using the RIAA as the "Cary Sue"... if you get what I mean.)
But you DO/DID spend a lot of time on the RIAA #1 honcho as a punching bag knowing damn well he is only an overpaid "yes" man to deeper and darker forces...

Geez, split personalities working everything out for your indie? LOL.
Yeah, if they're the enemy, if they're the one's causing the problems, then that's their mentality and even if the government forces them to comply with our demands, they're still going to be looking for ways to try and burn us. So just let them all burn instead

Sounds like this person has a gripe with the way music is distributed by the upper echelon of society. What else is new?
I don't quite see why all of a sudden this person is downing MTV which has been around for so long. Has something new come up which isn't being addressed?

Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys put it best back in 1988's song, "MTV Get of the Air"~
"M.T.V.-Get Off The Air"
Fun Fun Fun in the fluffy chair
Flame up the herb
Woof down the beer
[click!]
Hi
I'm your video DJ
I always talk like I'm wigged out on quaaludes
I wear a satin baseball jacket everywhere I go
My job is to help destroy
What's left of your imagination
By feeding you endless doses
Of sugar-coated mindless garbage
So don't create
Be sedate
Be a vegetable at home
And thwack on that dial
If we have our way even you will believe
This is the future of rock and roll
How far will you go
How low will you stoop
To tranquilize our minds with your sugar-coated swill
You've turned rock and roll rebellion
Into Pat Boone sedation
Making sure nothing's left to the imagination
M.T.V. Get off the
M.T.V. Get off the
M.T.V. Get off the air
Get off the air
See the latest rejects from the muppet show
Wag their tits and their dicks
As they lip-synch on screen
There's something I don't like
About a band who always smiles
Another tax write-off
For some schmuck who doesn't care
M.T.V. Get off the air
And so it was
Our beloved corporate gods
Claimed they created rock video
Allowing it to sink as low in one year
As commercial TV has in 25
"It's the new frontier," they say
It's wide open, anything can happen
But you've got a lot of nerve
To call yourself a pioneer
When you're too god-damn conservative
To take real chances.
Tin-eared
Graph-paper brained accountants
Instead of music fans
Call all the shots at giant record companies now
The lowest common denominator rules
Forget honesty
Forget creativity
The dumbest buy the mostest
That's the name of the game
But sales are slumping
And no one will say why
Could it be they put out one too many lousy records?!?
M.T.V.-Get off the air!

"J LO, PLEASE LET ME SNIFF YOUR BUTT."
And then she lets out a great big fart and the guy doing the sniffing dies of asphyxiation from the stench.
"I'M ABOUT TO BE BORN AGAIN ON YOUR BASTARD ASSES."
Praise Jesus . . . I'm a bastard!
"OUR NEXT PRESENTER IS THE STAR OF MTV'S JACKASS, AND SOMEONE WHO WILL
JACK YOUR ASS."
His name is "Ben Dover"

This is the root of the problem.. People seem to be willing to sell there soul (values for the dollar)
schmoo this is not directed at you specifically, but at everyone who is really willing to sell out true values for a buck... I'm not talking bout doing something that you really don't like to do for money... but doing something that you truly morally feel is wrong...for money...

On a site concerning copyright issues, you would think that at least the author of this article would be credited. Its a Matt Drudge. And an old one. Search Drudge Archives.

I'd have to agree with fjones987.
I mean what does MTV really have to do with the independent music scene? Is'nt that what we are all looking for (where the cool music is)?
When I do a sound check in the bars, instead of saying, check 1,2,3. I say,"WILL YOU PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR MTV HEADS. WILL YOU PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR MTV HEADS". As I look out it seems people start to wake up and then I make the eye contact. Wow, they look alive!, then we go from there.
Still Pickin'

Those quotes are all from performers at the MTV Awards.
"J LO, PLEASE LET ME SNIFF YOUR BUTT." - Triumph the dog from Conan O'Brien
""THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO THOUGHT WE WOULD MAKE GOOD WHORES." - Pink after Lady Marmalade (originally by Labelle)
"THIS PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO THE LOVING MEMORY OF AALIYAH." - Missy Elliot

This pig Judy McGrath along with Brian Graden and Sumner Redstone and others behind the scenes are those who bring us such things as JLo's big ass, Rap Music, dog Shit on the Osbourne family rug and shoving Spears and Timberlake down our throats till we puke. Truth is these are the lowlifes working hard to keep Indie Music from the masses. Shine the spotlight on these roaches and expose who's destroying creativity in music.

Well, MTV did bring back the Headbangers Ball... I don't really appreciate all the Hardcore they play, but I have seen videos from non-riaa labels. Surprise Surprise.
I'm still waiting for the new Iced Earth videos...not holding my breath. Some Stratovarius and Nightwish would be good too.
With Headbangers Ball back, they are at least making an attempt to play some good music...:^)

I didn't know they brought headbangers ball back. So who is the host? Probaly not the same with out Rick Ratman. Hope I spelled his name right. They should also bring back 120 minutes they played some decent music on that show. I think I will stick with VH 1 (ducking just in case something is thrown at me for saying that i watch VH1)

Jamie Josten (sp?), the lead singer of Hatebreed is the VJ now. He's pretty cool, but lacks the personality of Ricky. Rob Zombie started it off, but he didn't want to do it...possibly because of the Hardcore. He also didn't seem too friendly with some of the musical guests. Especially Staind. Staind's lead singer just glared at him the whole time. The guitarist answered all the questions. Rob Zombie has never been one to hold back (or hide) his feelings. Rob Zombie doesn't like being grouped in the NuMetal category either. He really is in his own category, let me try:
Industrial/Horror/Retro/Shock or something to that effect :^).
