Morons. Well, I'm totally against the fact it happened, but it's extremely ironic that this indecency happens on network TV and CBS refuses to run the MoveOn.org ad because of "issues".
They've got issues!
CBS needs serious help, and they need to stop taking advice from republicans.

I had to laugh, from the moment it started, my family could only criticize the half-time show and not find one redeeming thing about it all. There was not one shred of decency in the whole show, not one shred of a genuine performance. The popular media has gone off the deep end and it appears the whole world is going to hell in a hand basket!

Anyway - just look at the video above and see proof that it's staged. That was pretty quick reaction to zoom the camera in there at the end. Especially since for all camera man knew in that split second, it could have been totally bare. Gee, I wonder. How many stupid people will I have to punch tommorow when they talk about this?

I have Never, never seen such a disgusting half time show in all the years of super bowl. Was this the record industry's doing? The NFLs doing? Much Music's? or CBS's? I'm not sure who to write to to complain about this gross show!

This whole thing was Justin's one-up of Britney's kiss with Madonna...and Janet willingly came on for the ride to boost sales of her new album and concert DVD coming out soon. I think we are going to see a string of one-ups over the next year or more, where these so-called "artists" try and do something even more outrageous than the last idiot. Britney's probably shooting her full nude layout right now.

Why are you people so mad at this??!!!! ITS JUST A BOOB. Think about all those 'innocent' kids who saw the incident, almost every single one of them was fed from one those those "thingies" when they were little.
This isn't gonna warp anyones mind, it isn't gonna make us terrible people. Its just a stupid planned stage prank. European television/magazines show tit all the time, and whats the country with the higher rape and sexual abuse rates?
Heaven forbid our little kids see a 'private part' or hear a 'naughty' word. What would the world come to then? I know, lets AIRBRUSH, the nipples off Victorias Secret Catolog models!!!!! Yeah, great idea. Cuz real girls don't actually have nipples and they are 'dirty'.
I think with all the yelling of 'its dirty' we give kids some real complexes.
The scene wasn't classy in the least. But the alarm bells people are ringing have no cause.

nyer82, you just don't get it. It isn't the boob, it is the context in which the boob was seen and the manner in which it was "presented."
I saw an elephant penis on PBS last night -- they were milking it for semen to try to make more elephants. I'm not raising a stink. It is all about context.

When I saw all the RIAA slaves, I mean artists, I said to myself what a stupid half time show and changed the channel.
``We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show,'' Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. ``They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.
``It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime.''
Should we make a suggestion that the NFL now longer affiliate itself with the RIAA, whether it be the artists, or the Pepsi Commercials?

Actually indecent exposure is not really a parents responsiblity to prevent, well yes it is, but the state will also enforce punishment (that is ofcourse if your not a millionaire, then you can do whatever you want). But for most people ripping a girls clothes off and exposing her to the public would be considered a crime. I donno exactly what the laws are but probably assualt and indecent exposure. The point is that it is distasteful. If you want to see girls get their clothes ripped off go rent a pornno. The superbowl is not a good place to show it. Expecially if the only reason for it is publicity. I don't consider myself uptight at all. If my kid wanted to watch a porn I wouldn't have a second thought about it. Sex is defently a natural thing and our children need to be comfortable with it. But not think it is cool to rip the shirt off a girl. Or the pants off a guy if the situation were reversed.
As far as the elephant sperm goes. Well not really something I want to see but there are no laws preventing the indecent exposure of animals. Nor should there be we have enough laws.
I ask you ths. How many timberlake wanabees (they do exist) do you think pulled the shirt off their girlfriend in school this morning? 1, 2 maybe more, maybe none. How many thought about it? How many thought it was just a cool thing to do any but didn't get the oppertunity? Anyone who thinks TV, pop stars and the like do not influence our children's minds is blind. This is not the kind of thing that should go on especially on a popular event like the superbowl. On broadcast television. This wasn't an HBO special or even a comedy central blooper. It was one of the most popular events of the year. Young and old people a like were watching. Its just not in good taste. It was obviously staged so obviously the producers knew about it. I can think of better things to put in the show.
Personally I hate timberlake anyway. If his bones turned to dust and his flesh burnt in hell I would smile. So I'm sure I am a bit biased, but that doesn't make staging that kind of behaivor a good thing.

Hey, look at it this way. The RIAA has spent years calling us criminals and all-around terrible people. Between this, Britney's kiss, and the lyrics they promote in general, we can at least have a pretty good argument to knock them off the moral high ground when we're explaining how things really are to the rest of the world.

Perhaps next year they can stage a gang rape for your entertainment enjoyment.
The thing is, is that somehow, sometime, we all must take responsibility for our actions and demonstrations. A line has to be drawn somewhere, or civil disobedience will suprecede everything else.

It's not pro censorsip. They were showing off something for their own popularity gain, and it was done at the wrong time in the wrong place.
I happen to think that the RIAA are vulgar and obscene as well, hence why I'm here.
But in all actuality, what they did yesterday you could compare to taking your kid to Disneyland and being surprised by having Alice in Wonderland strip in public.
I wouldn't want my kids subject to that either.

I think the point has been missed. remember the expression "those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
The recording industry has been fighting the P2P network and part of their argument is that P2P exposes our children to Pornography.
This sort of example (along with the Britney and Madonna kiss) show's their hyprocracy. They promote exactly what they criticize us for. If they are going to take the high road, they have to live the high road.
Personally I don't care if they show a breast or two woman kiss. but I get very angry when they paint P2P this way and do the same thing themselves.

I think this is pure exploitation. Exploitation of the American people. You don't need to be on the "moral high ground" to be angry about this, you just need to understand that the "stars" involved were willing to use the biggest sporting event of the year to indulge in "shock and awe" publicity to propel their careers to new heights. They didn't give a damn that 99% of the American people weren't interested in seeing that sort of thing and tuned in for the game only; they did it for themselves, to make a few more dollars. I, for one, feel used.

OF COURSE its exploitation. I never could disagree with that.
Here was the plan. Justin and Janet both dance around to a mediocre song. Someone might remember it, but maybe not. NOW, Justin rips off Janets costume exposing her breast. Instead of it being just a "regular crappy superbowl show", its now more 'interesting'. Clip goes on Kazaa. The clip gets replayed over and over and over. Song gets stuck in head, must buy song, must buy album!!! Janet and justin make a few more bucks as do the labels.
Thats my analysis.

It just shows it's not about the music..it's about the "look".
Early on in the American Idol selling of Clay Aiken, he had to be "re-born" and modified to get rid of that "nerdy" image....
Female singers have been dressing up more and more like prostitutes since Patti Labelle, Nona Hendryx and Sara Dash (as the group Labelle) originally sang Lady Marmalade...and it was even more blatant when Lil Kim and Christina Aguillera performed it.
It's about "the look"....and fans have been trying to get Britney Spears not to lip synch on upcoming concerts...even though she says she doesn't do it.
Dressing provocatively has been a part of the "show biz" business for a long time...so why should we get all surprised as an aging female singer has her breast exposed "Accidentally" on one of the largest rated shows of the season...
Oh yeah...that was a real accident...I bet she always wears shiny pasties under her bras...oh well...at least it wasn't Hilary Rosen up there....
